Have you ever wondered if this is as good as it gets? Do you feel low, struggle with self-esteem, anxiety or chronic pain? Are you worried about your relationship with your partner, your child, your family or your boss?
Most of us wrestle with problems like this at some point in our lives. You are not alone, and you have more power than you think. Whatever’s going on for you, I can help you unpick it so that it feels easier to carry.
Life happens. Sometimes we feel satisfied with where our life is at, and excited about the future. But life can also be stressful and confusing, even when we have things to look forward to. Mostly, we figure things out for ourselves, but sometimes we can feel stuck and need a little extra help to make sense of it all. That’s where counselling can help.
“Shame dies when stories are told in safe spaces.”
— Ann Voskamp
Making the decision to start therapy can feel like a big step but I know from personal experience how powerful it can be. Making the time and space to feel seen and heard is an investment in yourself that can give you a deeper perspective on your feelings and help you find a way forward.
This is a confidential space where you can share anything you want without worrying about what someone else thinks. I’ll help you:
- Identify what’s not working for you and take steps to change it
- Break up with unhealthy patterns
- Reduce the effects of anxiety or depression and stop negative thinking in its tracks
- Get on top of chronic pain and cope better with illness
- Navigate the pain of grief and loss, whether through bereavement or life changes
- Communicate your needs better and build more rewarding relationships
- Increase your confidence and self esteem
Put the focus back on you
My job is to provide a safe and empathic environment where you can explore difficult feelings and find new ways to approach problems in your life. Together we will work to identify the coping mechanisms that no longer serve you and develop new approaches to help you move forward with confidence.
As a Gestalt therapist, I will work with what’s happening for you right here and now. We will look at how your past impacts how you feel and respond to life’s challenges today, and explore new approaches to help you feel better.
Professional experience
In addition to my Private Practice, I have worked extensively with bereavement counselling services and with those in hospice care.
